Multi-span bridges

When modelling bridges with LimitState:RING, the critical mode of response is identified automatically, whether this involves one, two or more adjacent bridge spans.

Failure modes may involve hinging, crushing, sliding at contacts or any of these in combination - LimitState:RING checks all potential mechanisms and identifies the critical case. Unlike other tools, there is no need to manually balance thrusts at pierheads.

Backing can be added over piers and abutments to more closely model the real-life situation present in many multi-span structures.
